Macie always told me that she was born in the wrong era; I truly believe she was.
...Since she was a small child, others were drawn to her... Drawn to her sweet, sweet, teeny tiny, chipmunk voice, her captivating giggle and her advanced vocabulary. Drawn to the way she moved her hands; her body-language, and the way she turned her head to look at you with those big, beautiful, green eyes….
Macie is Captivating… Her disposition was so special that once you met her, you could never forget her.
She was always a hippie, flower-child, free spirited, nature lover; an old soul and a loyal tribe member to her family and friends, with wisdom and knowledge far beyond her years. Macie could be friendly, reserved and tolerant. She was always quick to speak up to defend the defenseless.
Macie was conventional and quirky, simple yet sophisticated; silver jewelry and bandanas, dresses with Vans tennis shoes, turquoise rings and Indian braids.
Macie was described as seeing life through a very special lens…. She was all-natural and extraordinary; wearing ponytails and no makeup most days, to nail polish and maquillage on others.
She was a dream catchers’ and a cross hanging from her rear-view mirror kind of girl. She was a library, full of volumes in reserve. My Macie girl was a sweet prankster as well… !!
Years ago, on January 23, 2014, she logged in on my Facebook account, and posted as me: “ ‘My daughter is simply the best. She eats like a deer and walks like a cat. “ “Her eyes are like moonbeams and her hair is like whole wheat bread. “ “My daughter is the beez kneez. Macie Moon Pietrowicz’ ” My Silly girl! Haha! #mommaslovenevereverending!!!
Macie was a giver of gifts and loved receiving them just as much. She was strong and vulnerable, mountains and the beach, rainy days and mud puddles. She was moody and feisty, patient and quiet, the color grey and cameras.
She was the moon and lavender flowers, fireflies and enchanting kitties. My Macie rescued turtles crossing the road. She was eccentric, star-dusted fairies and adventurous. She was encouraging, loved zombies and she loves her Jesus.
She was persuasive to the point of convincing her photography models to eat flowers, kiss a plastic, pink 🦩 flamingo’s head, pour liquid, gold honey over a body and to hold and kiss dead fish!
The photoshoot that Macie created for me was called “Medicine”. It was of a girl sucking her thumb as she lay beside a starfish.
Macie loved tons of films and music: From the 80s Horror films, to folk and indie rock music, to pop and punk bands. Fan of David Bowie, Gene Wilder, Borns, Flyleaf, and Johnny Depp! An older, favorite punk band called, “The Misfits,” was a guilty pleasure of hers.
Macie was very private. She was trusting, a drama queen, emotional, optimistic, uplifting, had faith, artistic, magical, humble, imaginative, jealous, sweet, confident, a loner, gentle, moon pies and rice, pork and beans.
Yet, of all things…
Most of all…
SHE IS UNFORGETTABLE!!
LOVE MOM
