"Don’t look at me, just feel my soul“.-Macie Moon
So Young and Beautiful was She...

*God bless you, Lykoh for all you’ve done for our family...*
Macie always told me that she was born in the wrong era; I truly believe she was. ...Since she was a small child, others were drawn to her... From the way she moved her hands, her body-language, the way she turned her head and looked at you through those big, beautiful green eyes to her sweet, sweet, teeny tiny, chipmunk voice, her captivating giggle and her advanced vocabulary. Her disposition was so special that once you met her, you could never forget her. She was always a hippie, flower-child, free spirited, nature lover; an old soul and a loyal tribe member to her family and friends, with wisdom and knowledge far beyond her years. Macie could be friendly, reserved and tolerant. She was always quick to speak up to defend the defenseless.
Macie was conventional and quirky, simple yet sophisticated; silver jewelry and bandanas, dresses with Vans tennis shoes, turquoise rings and Indian braids. She saw life through a very special lens, (as her former youth pastor, Rachel Hill described her.) She was all-natural and extraordinary; wearing ponytails and no makeup most days, to nail polish and maquillage on others. She was a dream catchers’ and a cross hanging from her rear-view mirror kind of girl. She was a library, full of volumes in reserve.
My Macie girl was a sweet prankster as well… Four years ago, on January 23, 2014, she logged in on my Facebook account, and posted as me: “My daughter is simply the best. She eats like a deer and walks like a cat. Her eyes are like moonbeams and her hair is like whole wheat bread. My daughter is the beez kneez. Macie Moon Pietrowicz” My Silly girl! Haha! #mommaslovenevereverending!!!
Macie was a giver of gifts and loved receiving them just as much. She was strong and vulnerable, mountains and the beach, rainy days and mud puddles. She was moody and feisty, patient and quiet, the color grey, and cameras, the moon, lavender flowers, fireflies, enchanting, kitties, eccentric, star-dusted fairies, adventurous, encouraging, loved zombies and she loves her Jesus. She rescued turtles crossing the road, was persuasive to the point of convincing her photography models to hold and kiss dead fish, and eat flowers, kiss a plastic pink flamingos head, pour honey all over their bodies, to sucking their thumb and naming the shoot “Medicine.” Fan of David Bowie, Gene Wilder, Borns, Macie loved tons of films and music. Films from the 80s Horror and music like folk and indie rock, and pop and punk bands; The Misfits, an older punk band was one of her favorites and was a guilty pleasure of hers.Flyleaf, and Johnny Depp.
Macie was very private, trusting, a drama queen, emotional, optimistic, uplifting, had faith, artistic, magical, humble, imaginative, jealous, sweet, confident, a loner, gentle, moon pies and rice, pork and beans. Yet, of all things… Most of all… SHE IS UNFORGETTABLE!!!
Macie Moon created these images in honor of her Mom. She called it Medicine.
